What do I do if I am interested in one of your services?
If you are interested in learning more about our services, please call our office at 203-250-0305. If you would like to set up an intake with one of our therapists, please head to our New Client page, complete the form and someone will be back in touch to schedule.
Does insurance cover these services?
The Social Learning Center, LLC. does NOT take insurance for social groups. At the end of each month, you will receive a statement with the diagnostic and procedures codes you will need so that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement depends solely on the type of insurance provider you currently have. For more information on this, please email Lisa at l.dempseySLC@gmail.com The SLC does take check, credit cards and cash for services.
The SLC Counseling Associates, LLC, a branch of the Social Learning Center does accept Husky and Anthem for individual counseling sessions.
How long do groups usually run?
Our Fall and Winter sessions will run for 14 weeks.
Each group is an hour in length.
Make up sessions (if a group is cancelled due to illness of the clinician or inclement weather) will be provided based on the calendar and weather permitting.
Can my child join a group mid session?
Depending on the age of the group, most groups will allow up to 4-5 participants. Groups are kept small to protect the efficacy of the program and ensure individualized support.
Although it is not a common practice at the SLC to bring in new students after the start of the session, a new client may enter an existing group based on: the fit of the client to the group and the number of students in the group at that time.
How much do services cost?
Rates for services are fixed by the business office every July 1. Rates will vary depending on the service and the clinician you are interested in working with. For more information on our current rates please call our office at 203-250-0305.
Do you contract for in home services?
No. The Social Learning Center does not have the staff to provide in home social or behavioral support. Recommendations for other agencies who do provide such services can be made by Chris Abildgaard.
Do we offer parent/family support:
There is a large family component to our all sessions. If a family is interested in more direct support/counseling we are happy to accommodate that on an as needed basis.
Do we prescribe medications: No, we do not have any psychiatrists or APRN's on staff.
